Privacy policy
In short
- There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking in Stumpire.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your own device. We never receive them.
- Endless has world boards. When you play Endless on playstumpire.com or in the Android app, we receive a random player ID, the name you appear under (made from our word lists, never typed) and your runs: each call, how long you took and the score. You can take yourself off the boards at any time.
- There are no ads on playstumpire.com.
- When you play on CrazyGames or YouTube, those platforms show ads and may save your progress. The Android app shows ads from Google AdMob and sells optional kit packs through Google Play. Their privacy policies cover that, and this page explains what they do.
Who we are
Stumpire is made and published by IndicBytes. Questions about this policy or your data: support@playstumpire.com.
What the game saves
To keep your career going between visits, the game saves:
- Your progress: XP and level, medals and fixture results, exams passed, lessons played, achievements and the umpire's kit you have unlocked and chosen.
- How you call: how many of each kind of call you got right, your decision times, and your Endless runs (scores, balls faced, accuracy and the date of each Daily Run).
- Your settings: sound, music, vibration, controls, decision time, sound rings, motion, and the graphics quality that suits your device.
None of this includes your name, email address, location, contacts, photos or anything else that identifies you. On playstumpire.com it is kept in your browser's storage on your device; in the Android app, in the app's own storage. Only what the world boards need leaves it, as the next section explains.
The world boards
Endless has two world boards: today's Daily Run and the all-time best. They're optional, and they work without an account.
What we receive when you play an Endless run on playstumpire.com or in the Android app:
- A player ID and a key that the game makes up at random the first time it sends a run. They're kept in your browser (or the app) so the game can send your next runs as you. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of the key.
- The name you appear under: two words from our lists and a number, such as "Plucky Umpire 482". The game shows it before anything is sent, and you can change it to other words from the lists. You can't type a name, so it never includes your real one.
- Each run: which balls it dealt, each call you made and how long you took (to a hundredth of a second), whether you had More decision time or an extra life, the score, when the run started and ended, where it was played (the web or the Android app), and the game's version.
What it's for: the server replays each run to check its score, then ranks it. Everyone who opens the boards sees the names, scores and ranks on them. Runs that look too quick to be played by a person are kept off the boards until we've looked at them.
Your IP address reaches our server with each request. It's used, in memory only, to stop anyone sending too many requests, and it's never stored or logged.
How long it's kept: your player, name and scores stay while you're on the boards. The calls in each run are deleted after 30 days, or 90 days for Daily Runs, except for your best run, which the all-time board keeps. A nightly backup copy of the boards is kept for 14 days.
Taking yourself off: in the game, open Settings, then World boards, then Remove me from the world boards. Your player and every run you've sent are deleted from the boards straight away, and from the backups within 14 days. The game then sends nothing more unless you join again, as a new player under a new name. If you've already cleared your browser's data, email us the name you appeared under and we'll remove it.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to sign up or log in.
- We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, or any third-party scripts on playstumpire.com. Every file the game uses, fonts included, comes from playstumpire.com.
- We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone, and we don't collect your name, email address or anything else that identifies you.
Hosting
playstumpire.com runs on a server rented from Hostinger. Our server doesn't keep logs of your visits. Like any website, your device's IP address reaches the server so it can send you the game, and our hosting provider may process it briefly to run and protect its network.
Playing on CrazyGames
On crazygames.com the game runs inside CrazyGames' site. CrazyGames shows ads, which pause and mute the game while they play, and if you are signed in to CrazyGames it saves your progress to your CrazyGames account. We don't receive any personal information from CrazyGames. The version on CrazyGames doesn't send anything to us. Their privacy policy covers what CrazyGames and its ad partners collect.
Playing on YouTube
As a YouTube Playable, the game runs inside YouTube. YouTube saves your progress to your YouTube account, may show ads, and receives your best Endless score for its leaderboard. The version on YouTube doesn't send anything to us, so it doesn't use our world boards. Google's privacy policy covers what YouTube collects.
In the Android app
- Ads: the app shows ads from Google AdMob, limited to ads suitable for teens. To show and measure ads, AdMob may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and information about the ads you see and tap. Where the law asks for it (the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and some US states), the app asks for your choice first, using Google's own form; if you don't consent, ads aren't personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings, then Privacy options, and reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads in your device's settings. Google explains its use of this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Purchases: "Remove ads" and the kit packs are bought through Google Play, which handles the payment; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, the service we use to confirm purchases, receives the purchase receipt and a random ID the app makes up, so it can tell the app what you own and restore it on a new phone. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Google's.
- Your progress is saved in the app's storage on your device. Android's own backup may copy it to your Google account, so it comes back if you reinstall or change phones; you can turn that off in Android's settings.
- The world boards work as on the web (see above).
There's no iOS app yet. We'll update this policy when there is.
Children
Stumpire is made for players aged 13 and over, and isn't directed at children under 13. The world boards never ask for a real name, email address or any other details, and names can only be made from our word lists. If you think a child under 13 has sent us personal information, for example in an email, or is on the world boards, write to us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- Leave the world boards: Settings, then World boards, then Remove me from the world boards.
- Delete your progress on the web: clear the site data for playstumpire.com in your browser's settings. Remove yourself from the world boards first, or your scores stay there under your name. In an app, uninstalling it deletes its saved data.
- On CrazyGames or YouTube: use the account and privacy settings there.
- Questions and requests: under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email support@playstumpire.com with the name you appear under on the world boards, and we'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change how Stumpire handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
